Meet the Athletic Trainers
Rey Igliane, AT/L, CSCS, is an AZ-Licensed Athletic Trainer, a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He joined the Sports Medicine Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in 2014.
He received his degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in athletic training from California State University, Fullerton. He completed his Internship at Orange Coast College in California, sharing responsibilities with other Athletic Trainers covering all intercollegiate sports. He specializes in the prevention and care of sports injuries, illnesses or conditions. Rey works with his patients and athletes following a movement-based approach. His passion is providing his patients and athletes with knowledge and ability that they need to return to play and perform at their highest potential.
Growing up in California, Rey learned and participated in a variety of sports from snowboarding, football, to jiu-jitsu. Rey continues to be active by participating in outdoor sports. Rey and his wife, Janine, have three kids, Elise, Malorie and Chase.
Ryan S. May, MS, LAT, ATC, CES, PES, is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physician Extender at Phoenix Children's Hospital. He specializes in non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, injury prevention, rehabilitation and concussion management. He joined the Sports Medicine Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in 2010.
Ryan received his masters of science degree in athletic training from A.T. Still University in Mesa. His research interests and expertise is in the adolescent throwing athlete and the shoulder complex. He is also a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Following his Undergraduate completion, Ryan was a member of the Athletic Training Staff for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA) during the ‘07-‘08 seasons.
Ryan was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he participated in football, wrestling and baseball (his favorite). He was a two time back-to-back WIAA Division 2 State Champion in baseball. He also played baseball at Concordia University Wisconsin. Ryan resides in Gilbert, AZ with his dog, Bogey. He loves to golf and play softball. He recently has gotten into Cycling and tries to go out on group rides when he can.
