Cerebral Palsy Clinic
The Cerebral Palsy Clinic at the Herbert J. Louis Center for Pediatric Orthopedics treats children with cerebral palsy and other progressive neurological conditions that affect movement. Because cerebral palsy affects the communication between the brain and the body’s muscles, it can cause permanent weakness or abnormal movements in those who have it.
The symptoms of cerebral palsy are different for every child. The Cerebral Palsy Clinic treats the orthopedic aspects of the condition, including muscle weakness or stiffness, poor motor control, unsteady gait and spasticity, or shaking, of the arms or legs.
During each appointments, an orthopedic physician, occupational and physical therapists meet with the patient and family. To learn more and schedule an appointment, call (602) 933-3033.
In addition to the Cerebral Palsy Clinic, our physicians participate in a multidisciplinary Complex Care Tone Management Clinic that brings together orthopedic physicians, neurologists, neurosurgeons and rehabilitation therapists to treat patients with cerebral palsy and similar disorders with tone management issues.
